"The expression of this mask is a fusion of jealousy, grudge, sorrow, and grief of women. It has a demonic appearance with two horns, knitting her brows and stiffening her cheeks." (1.)

"The Hannya mask is used in many noh and kyōgen Japanese plays, as well as in Shinto ritual kagura dances. The Hannya mask portrays the souls of women who have become demons due to obsession or jealousy. The Hannya mask is said to be demonic and dangerous but also sorrowful and tormented, displaying the complexity of human emotions." (2.)

High quality pigment screen print.

Printed on a deluxe, pre-shrunk 100% cotton super soft 6.1- ounce heavyweight long sleeve t-shirt. Ribbed collar with set-in sleeves and shoulder to shoulder taping. Double-needle stitching on neck, sleeve and bottom hem. Fits loose & "oversized" on most (model is wearing a size XL). This design is printed on a special garment-washed tshirt, which results in a "faded" look and ultra-soft feel!
